 Record of cricket fans among Corona: 67,000 spectators to watch India vs England's first T-20, first time in world cricket since lockdown

The first India-England T-20 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad was attended by 67,000 fans at the stadium.

The first T-20 between India and England, played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, drew 67,000 fans. This is a record in a cricket match played after a lockdown between Corona. The seating capacity of the stadium is 1.32 lakh.

Before the series, Gujarat Cricket Association talked about the entry of 100% fans. The decision was overturned just before the match, with 50% of fans allowed entry. According to association sources, tickets were sold at about 50%.

There was more demand for lower priced tickets

An official of the Gujarat Cricket Association said there was a high demand for low-priced tickets. The tickets ranged in price from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. These tickets were the best-selling.

Cricket fans entered the stadium only last year

Fans returned to the stadium after the lockdown from the match between Australia and the New Zealand women's team. The ODI series was played in Brisbane in late September last year. The first match in men's cricket was played between New Zealand and Australia in late November. Limited fans got entry in both the matches.

The first T-20 England won by 8 wickets

England defeated India by 8 wickets in the first match of the 5T-20 series. India lost the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 124 for 7. In reply, England lost 2 wickets in 15.3 overs and chased the target.

Joffra Archer, who took 3 for 23, was named Player of the Match. The second match will be played tomorrow. All matches of the series will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Only 50% of tickets will be sold online and offline: Dhanraj Nathwani

GCA vice-president Dhanraj Nathwani said only 50% of the tickets were available for sale through online and offline media. The entire stadium has also been sanitized following the Corona epidemic.
