Deepak Hooda, batting fourth for Punjab, gave momentum to the Kings' innings with his tumultuous batting. He hit fifty off just 20 balls and hit 64 off 28 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes. Deepak's contribution was crucial as Punjab managed to score a bigger than batting first.

Sakaria was the first wicket-taker in the league by dismissing Mayank Agarwal.

were also the individual top wicket takers of both the teams in the 3-3 wicket fast match. Chetan Sakaria, playing his first match in the IPL, bowled a very impressive 31 runs in 4 overs and took 3 wickets. He was accompanied by Lokesh Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Z.
