TRAI has sought the advice of all concerned departments and people on the consultation paper. It is believed that companies may soon extend the validity of their tariff plans to 28 to 30 days. However, after doing so, the company may increase the cost of their tariff plan.

Due to this, TRAI released a consultation paper.
TRAI said in a press release that customers were getting suggestions from the service provider to give 28 days validity instead of 1 month on the tariff plan. A large segment of consumers is not satisfied with the validity of the tariff plan. According to TRAI, the purpose of this consultation paper is to identify the validity of the tariff offer.

Due to this TRAI has released a consultation paper on the validity period of the tariff offer. It seeks the advice of all stakeholders. Written comments on this paper must be submitted by June 11, 2021. The concerned department can also comment via email.

TRAI's move towards transparency: Expert in
this regard, Mahesh Uppal, telecom expert and director of ComFirst, said that as far as making the plan cheap or expensive, companies are given full leeway. There is no compromise for the cost of the plan from TRAI. Customers get confused when the plan is 28 days old. In Teva, customers often do not get the benefit of another plan. Even if one plan is working, the customer invests in another plan. TRAI has taken this step for the transparency of the plan in Teva. This matter still needs a lot of improvement.

Validity is in 28 days or its multiplication
All service providers maintain the validity of the plan according to 28 days or its multiplication days. That means there are 28, 56 and 84 day plans. In postpaid, the bill is for a 30-day cycle.

With 28 days validity, the company gets 1 month benefit.
Telecom companies get the benefit of one month tariff plan in 28, 56 or 84 day plans. This means that in 1 year, customers have to plan 13 times a month instead of 12 times a month. Understand the math this way ...

The monthly plan is valid for 28 days

1 year has 12 months and 356 days
365/28 days = 13 months as per validity
This means that customers have to recharge 13 times instead of 12 times in 1 year
