For this feature the user will have to submit his mobile number on Instagram

Instagram is working on a new security feature. This feature will give users 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) code via WhatsApp message. Currently this feature is only available in Instagram. But the company is going to give a new option to the user through WhatsApp.

Tech tipster Alessandro shared a screenshot of this upcoming feature on Twitter. It can be seen that the toggle option is available in the app. Which enables security code thru thru. In this new security feature, the user will be able to select the option to receive verification via SMS along with WhatsApp account. According to the leaked report, this feature is currently in the testing phase. The company may launch it globally soon.

To turn on this feature, the user has to submit his mobile number in Instagram. However, the company will not store other phone information for this feature. When the feature is turned on, the user will see a message like this: "Before we can confirm your WhatsApp account, let's add your phone number. WhatsApp will not store any of your information."

Two factor authentication

This is a kind of security system. It has to provide 2 different identifications for accessing an item. This authentication provides double layer security.

Turn on 2FA this way on Instagram

First open Instagram and go to Settings.
Then go to Security and click on the Two-Factor Authentication tab.
Now click on Get Started button and select the verification method.
