सुबह-सुबह ड्यूटी से लौट रहे गार्ड को एक लड़के ने धीमा चलने का इशारा किया. यह महसूस करते हुए कि आगे कुछ ठीक नहीं है, गार्ड ने किसी तरह अपनी स्कूटी को रोका. उसी समय पार्क के हल्दीबाड़ी रेंज में एक विशाल गैंडे ने NH37 को पार किया. अगर लड़के ने गार्ड को रोका नहीं होता तो राइनो उसे नुकसान पहुंचा सकता था. पार्क में पहली बार हाई सेंसर कैमरा और नौ एनिमल कॉरिडोर में इलेक्ट्रॉनिक स्पीडोमीटर लगाए गए हैं. गति सीमा का उल्लंघन करने वाले वाहनों पर 5000 रुपये का पर्यावरण जुर्माना लगाया जाता है.

The guard who was retuing from duty early morning was signaled by a boy to slow down. Realizing that some thing's not good ahead the guard somehow managed to stop his scooty. At that point of time a huge Rhino crossed the NH37 at Haldibari range of the park.
Had it not been for the boy the guard would have been right under the nose of the Rhino. As water from the inflated Brahmaputra have started moving into the outskirts of the park, animals including the Rhino have started moving to safe areas.



The park authorities for the first time have installed electronic speedometer in one of the nine animal corridors of the park including installation of high sensor camera.

It needs mention the park which is home for 2413 Rhino, issues time card and limts vehicle speed to 40 KmPh duing flood season on NH37 which bisects the park. A environment fine of rupees 5000 is slapped on vehicles violating the speed limit.

In July 2020 floods , 60 animals (36 hog deer, eight rhinos, three wild buffalo, one python, seven wild boar, two swamp deer, one Sambar and two porcupines) have died due to drowning. Fifteen hog deer have died after getting hit by vehicles on national highway 37 close to the park, while trying to cross it to escape flood waters.
