Canara Bank said on Friday that the IFSC code of all the branches of Syndicate Bank will be changed from July 1, 2021. Following this change, Syndicate Bank customers will have to use Canara Bank's new IFSC code to accept funds through NEFT / RTGS / IMPS.

Here's how to get your bank's new code

  • According to Canara Bank, customers can learn the new IFSC code through the URL canarabank.com/IFSC.html.
  • Customers can also know the new IFSC code of their bank branch through Canara Bank's website.
  • Customers can also get the IFSC code information by visiting their bank branch.

Syndicate Bank customers will get a new checkbook
According to Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank, old customers will get a new checkbook. This checkbook will have the new IFSC and MICR code. According to Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank's Swift Code (SYNBINBBXXX) will also change from 1 July 2021. All customers can then use the new Swift Code (CNRBINBBFD) for foreign exchange.

Syndicate-Canara Bank merged on April 1, 2020 The
Finance Minister announced the merger of Syndicate Bank with Canara Bank in 2019. The merger is effective April 1, 2020. After the merger, Canara Bank has become the fourth largest state-owned bank in the country.

Canara Bank merges with 4032 branches
At the time of the merger, Canara Bank's total business was Rs 10.43 lakh crore and Syndicate Bank's total business was Rs 4.77 lakh crore. While the number of employees was 58,350 and 31,535, respectively. At the time of the merger, Syndicate Bank had 4032 branches across the country, merged with Canara Bank.
