The historic 144th Rathyatra of Lord Jagannath will traditionally take place on Monday amid curfew. Lord Jagannath, brother Balram and sister Subhadraji Mosal have returned to their temple from Saraspur today on the day of Amas before the rathyatra After returning to the temple, the Netrotsav ceremony and flag hoisting ceremony were started. 





Amidst a huge crowd of devotees, BJP state president CR Patil and home minister Pradipsinh Jadeja attended the ceremony. In which people who have come to visit the temple are also sitting in the pangat to take prasadi.

Netrotsav and flag hoisting ceremony was performed at Jagannath temple with the sound of Jai Ranchod Makhanchor. Aarti was performed for the first time after 14 days in the temple of Lord Jagannath, brother Balram and sister Subhadraji, who had returned from Mosal. The three brothers and sisters were then blindfolded. The track will be opened tomorrow morning.

Last year the chariots of the Lord only roamed the temple premises, but this year due to the low number of corona cases the rathyatra has been allowed to take place on the traditional route. Curfew will be imposed on all the routes from which the chariot will leave. In just five hours, the Lord's chariot will return to Nijmandir on a 22 km route and the rathyatra will be completed. Prasad of Lord's Rathyatra will be distributed till Gurupurnima.

The chariot will return to
Nijmandir by 12 noon. Journey with three different chariots with idols of Jagannathji, Baldevji and Subhadraji. Depart from Jagannath temple at 7 am on traditional route. Return to Kalupur Circle, Prem Darwaja, Delhi Chakla, Shahpur Darwaja, R.C. High School, Pithadia Bamba, Pankornaka, Manekchowk and will return to Nijmandir by about 12 noon.

A large number of devotees arrived at the temple to witness the Netrotsavavidhi of the Lord.

Rathyatra offerings to be distributed till Guru Purnima
Jagannath temple trustee Mahendra Zai told reporters on Friday that Lord Jagannathji's rathyatra would be held differently this year. There is an appeal from the temple that people sit at home and take advantage of the rathyatra. The chariot will return at the appointed time.

No offerings will be distributed along the way. The chariot will return to Nijmandir. After that, offerings of Mug, Jambu, Khichda will be offered in the temple. When the Lord returns in the chariot in the afternoon, people will be able to come to the temple and take advantage of the offerings. Prasad of Rathyatra Mugan will be distributed till Gurupurnima.
